“ A diminutive and incredibly good-looking blonde (Mandy Lemons ...) walked slowly around the miniscule stage, like a panther on the prowl. What came next was amazing! Sturgis Nikides is a master craftsman of Blues guitar. His fingers chased after the music, up and down the neck of his guitar — leaping, sliding, and sometimes sneaking from fret to fret. Although his influences are many, his sound is uniquely his own. However, Mandy (remember her…the good-looking blonde…my second-most primary reason for going that night?) words cannot describe the raw power of her voice and the enthusiasm of her performance — think Janis Joplin, only so much better. She sang with fervor and passion as she threw her head back, seemingly levitated to the tips of her toes, and unleashed a voice that sounded like she was rising to heaven while kicking down the doors to hell.”

“I’m a strong supporter of female power, and I think that it’s our time and we’re rising up,” she says. “I think that we need to come together and appreciate ourselves and each other. Blues women are really the ones that set the bar and really started the whole thing, honestly. I think they really reach into people’s souls. I’m just trying to carry that torch.” She also hopes Low Society’s music will give those in the audience who are hurting from something in their lives a chance to face fears and, ultimately, heal. "I think that pain and fear definitely holds us back in life,” she says. “It keeps us down. … You know, you can release it. You can forgive. You can have compassion. You can heal and grow, and the only way to do that is by getting it out into the light.”
SANCTIFIED 2017
“Low Society’s ‘Sanctified’ is a Modern Blues Masterpiece. The talented team behind this album poured their heart and soul into every track, and it shows in the loving production, meaningful lyrics, and inspired performances. A classic blues fan looking to step into the world of the modern genre will not go astray with Low Society on their record shelf.”
“If you ask today how to bring the blues to the future: this is clearly the way. "Sanctified" is one of the albums you must hear in 2017. And Low Society are, for me, one of the most recommendable bands in the arena of blues-rock.”

“...We appreciate the rich and powerful voice of Mandy Lemons but also that she always keeps close to the skillful and inspired guitarist who never takes the easy route, but instead gives us ever more ingenious riffs.”
